"Live in accord with your deepest instincts."

My favorite aspect of coaching is witnessing how tough sports can completely change a person. Witnessing students leave their comfort zone, take new risks, and slowly grow into a stronger version of themselves is what I appreciate about Boxing. I enjoy developing brand new boxers, seeing that spark of excitement, and being witness to their journey in the sport.

Learning Boxing doesn’t have to be intimidating. At Archetype, we make the sport fun and approachable - its high-level problem solving and great fitness.

"Embrace the struggle."

What I enjoy most about being a boxing coach is the balance and discipline it brings to myself and my students. To be perfectly balanced, you are able to bend, rather than break. Being disciplined in your craft brings structure but also enables growth.

The sport of boxing challenges you and forces you to garner new skills. Embrace that struggle and you will see improvements in both your personal and mental wellbeing.

I bring positive energy and make everyone in the room feel comfortable. My sense of humor and detailed coaching create an environment where individuals from all backgrounds have space to learn and grow

"I am who I am today because of the choices I made yesterday."

I started boxing in 2013 because I was looking for something that would challenge me and build skill after a competitive collegiate soccer career. Boxing has provided me with the competitive outlet, the means of escaping from the office and computer, a healthy way to deal life’s stressors, and an opportunity to measure myself daily.

My boxing technique and skills did not happen overnight. You have to take it day by day — chipping away at form and meeting each challenge with tiny successes. Only inside the ropes will you have the strength to stare those challenges down.

Consistency is key

As a boxer and a coach, I have the opportunity to push myself past my perceived limits every day. Through my training, I’ve learned the value of community. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the family I’m surrounded by who support and encourage me to keep going and work harder. In a group of like-minded people, who show up consistently and expect you to do the same, miracles happen.

As an Archetype coach, my favorite part of the job is creating community, building a support system, and being an accountability partner. Watching my students show up each day and seeing themselves grow is by far the most rewarding, the joy on their face when they see progress or one more component clicks is unmatched.

Discipline is doing what you hate like you love it

Boxing has been in my family for generations. Both of my parents were highly ranked boxers and raised me in the gym since before I could walk, so I’ve gotten to develop my own approach as I’ve grown. I’ve known a traditional, old-school style of training and believe it to be tried and true. However, the structure of Archetype’s classes, which allow for a lighthearted environment and welcoming hospitality without losing the importance of fundamentals, is something I’ve never seen before. Our approach to training is revolutionary and unique and I’m excited to be a part of it.

To overcome fear is the quickest way to gain your self-confidence.

I grew up a competitive dancer and competed all through college. Once college was over, I found fitness boxing. The bright lights, loud music, and routine all intrigued me. As great as the ‘flash’ of fitness boxing was, I started to fall in love with the foundations. The history, the technique, and the grit that’s at the core of boxing was where I wanted to go.

At Archetype, we start with the foundations. It’s not just the technique, but the foundations of what boxing can help you achieve in all aspects of your life. The physical, mental, and emotional growth that can happen inside these walls contributes to your success outside. As a coach, I love to see the technical improvement in my students. But to see their confidence build and their physical and mental toughness continually grow through boxing is one of the most rewarding things.
